2024-25 Player in Review: Michael Brandsegg-Nygard

Left wing Michael Brandsegg-Nygard appeared in two regular-season games with the Griffins before showing three points (2-1—3), four penalty minutes and a plus-one rating in three playoff outings. The 19-year-old made his AHL debut on April 18 at Rockford and made his Calder Cup Playoffs debut on April 29 against Texas. He earned his first AHL point and goal during a two-point outing (1-1—2) in Game 2 of the Central Division Semifinals on May 5 against Texas. 

Brandsegg-Nygard spent the majority of the campaign in the SHL with Skelleftea, registering 11 points (5-6—11), 51 penalty minutes and a minus-two rating in 42 regular-season games. He added six points (4-2—6), 12 penalty minutes and a minus-three rating in 11 postseason games in the SHL. Brandsegg-Nygard also logged four assists in five games with Team Norway at the World Championship.
